if i got an adapter could i run a power tool off the 12v socket in a car?

same as above, could i run a power tool using the 12v slot in a car
no the adapter im talking about to go from the car circular slot to a plug

    I’m assuming the adapter you’re thinking of is a device called a power inverter (coverts DC to AC). These are limited to about 400 watts for plug-in inverters, but more powerful ones can be hardwired. So you could operate any power tool up to 400 watts. If an adapter for 12V cordless tools exists, yes you could, but hook it up to a genuine ‘powerpoint’ socket rather than the cigarette lighter socket, and check to see if anything begins to overheat from the current throughput.
